Escalade, XLR Most Expensive Cadillacs to Insure
It must be time for everyone to renew their car insurance – as both Jalopnik & AOL News (yes, I still occasionally check my AOL account) are reporting on the Top Most Expensive Automobiles to Insure. Making not one but two appearances on this list are vehicles by Cadillac – the 2009 Escalade and XLR Convertible.

Not really surprised about either one of these Caddy’s making an “Expensive to Insure” list – I mean, one is a two-ton SUV and the other is a fancy topless automobile. But since both made it into the Top 15 we thought it would be nice to share. Sticker price for a Cadillac Escalade EXT ranges around $61,130 and costs (on average, probably much more in NY/NJ) $1,592. To put that into perspective, my 1994 Mercury Topaz cost $1100/year to insure in New Jersey with only liability coverage.

If an SUV isn’t your thing, fear not – the Cadillac XLR (2009’s model may be its last) also comes with a hefty price tag to gloat about – $86,215 with an average $1,694 insurance cost. Again, we get the feeling this amount may be coverage in states with less drivers like Vermont or Ohio. I’m scared to even think about yearly amounts (with or without decent coverage) in Los Angeles or The Big Apple. Stay Classy Caddy!

THE XLR CADILLAC IS WORTH EVERY PENNY~~~!!!!!!!
