Spies over at Jalopnik have discovered a fully unmasked Cadillac CTS-V Sports Wagon for a 2010 – 2011 debut. Just when you thought a Caddy couldn’t have a bigger butt, the CTS-V Wagon looks to be carrying a ton of junk in it’s…hatchback. And I mean really folks, we know Caddy fans love a big ride, but I personally witnessed an all new 2010 CTS barely fit down the street in South Philly last night. Caddy’s may not be the most particle city cars, but they sure look fancy.

Our previous coverage of the once rumored Cadillac CTS-V Wagon stated it will consist of a 550 HP 6.2-liter LSA engine. Now all we need are more spy shots to confirm this! Good work Jalopnik!

Let’s face it – station wagons haven’t been cool since the Griswold’s took a Wagon Queen Family Truckster halfway across America to get the kids to Wally World. But with the 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon, your grandpa’s wagon may be hip again. For a company like Caddy, who is on the lookout for a fresh & young audience, choosing station wagon variants of their sexy CTS sedan & Coupe may not seem like a wise decision – but we disagree. SUV’s are out – and people still need legroom, you are getting a little older there, Mr. Dave Mathew’s fan. American’s want space, but now they want a decent MPG rating and to not worry their Firestone tires are gonna pop, causing you to flip over. Station wagons have become the obvious choice.

So what DOES Caddy’s CTS Wagon have for us? Their base 3.0-liter V6 produces a powerful 270 horse power, or 304 HP with a direct injection 3.6-liter V6 option. Miles Per Gallon tests returned 18/27 ratings. Another cool option is GM’s traction control, which can be switched or off, depending on how empty that rainy parking lot is.

2010’s CTS Wagon comes with plenty of room. 58 cubic feet of storage in it’s behind with the seats down. A backup camera and proximity sensors help in those hard to see places when in reverse.

Production on CTS Sport Wagon began on Monday, and soon you too will be able to head down Turn Pike roads after paying the $40,485 sticker, starting price of course.

2011’s Cadillac CTS-V Coupe is chock full of FAST – with a supercharged 6.2 liter V8 and (are you ready?) 556 horse power under the hood. It’s just 2010 but you can have a 2011 CTS-V Couple, which in grand fashion comes with barely any rear seating to speak of, in the summer of this year. CTS-V will officially drop at the 2010 North American International Auto Show – also known as they Detroit Auto Show. Check out some more pics and full details in the press release below.

ART AND SCIENCE: CADILLAC PREMIERES 2011 CTS-V COUPE

DETROIT – Cadillac today announced the 2011 CTS-V Coupe, which debuts at the
2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It combines the new CTS
Coupe’s dramatic design with the 556-horsepower (415-kW) supercharged V-8 engine
from the CTS-V sedan. The result is a luxury sports coupe aimed at driving enthusiasts.

“The CTS-V Coupe marries our most potent and sophisticated technology with our most
dramatic production design,” said Bryan Nesbitt, Cadillac general manager. “This
combination of visual and technical attributes is designed to create a very compelling
choice for luxury sports car consumers.”

The CTS-V Coupe begins production this summer. Its suite of technical and
performance elements includes Magnetic Ride Control, racing-bred Brembo brakes and
an available automatic transmission with paddle-shift control.

The V-Series Coupe includes a unique grille that doubles the car’s air intake volume, an
important enabler for its high-performance capabilities. It is also visually identified by a
raised center section of the hood that provides clearance for the supercharger, as well
as specific front and rear fascias. Like the CTS Coupe, its exhaust is centered inside the
rear fascia, but with unique twin outlets. The car rolls on 19-inch cast aluminum wheels,
available in either painted or polished finishes, and Michelin Pilot Sport 2 performance
tires.

The CTS-V Coupe’s rear track is nearly an inch wider than the CTS-V Sport Sedan,
adding to the car’s aggressive stance and enabling an extra measure of handling
capability. The current CTS-V Sport Sedan has quickly established itself among the
world’s highest performing luxury sedans, becoming the first production four-door on
street tires to break the legendary 8-minute barrier at Germany’s famed Nürburgring.
The new V-Series Coupe’s sleeker shape and slightly lower mass ensure a similarly high
level of performance.

Inside, the 2+2 cabin combines performance and luxury. A new Saffron interior trim color
is offered, with contrasting microfiber seat inserts and stitching on the upper trim areas.

The CTS-V Coupe’s design is a clear visual statement of the technical precision and
performance intent of the car. The Coupe has the same wheelbase as the CTS-V Sport Sedan, but its overall height is about two inches (51 mm) lower and its overall length is two inches (51 mm) shorter.
The two models share only the instrument panel, console, headlamps, front fenders and
grille.

Supercharged powertrain
The CTS-V Coupe employs the LSA 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine also found on the
CTS-V Sport Sedan. Rated at 556 horsepower (415 kW) and 551 lb.-ft. of torque (747
Nm), it is the most powerful engine offered in Cadillac’s history and propels the CTS-V
Coupe from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds.

The LSA engine features an intercooled Eaton supercharger system, premium
aluminum-alloy cylinder heads and numerous details designed to ensure it makes its
power as quietly and smoothly as possible. The supercharger, for example, has a
unique, four-lobe rotor design that enhances quietness while also optimizing the
performance parameters of the engine.

A pair of six-speed transmissions is offered in the CTS-V Coupe: a Tremec TR6060 six-
speed manual with a dual-disc clutch and a Hydra-Matic 6L90 six-speed automatic with
paddle-shift control. Performance Algorithm Shifting is part of the 6L90’s programming
and provides a performance-oriented shift pattern during sustained high-performance
driving. As with many Cadillac models, the driver needs only to slide the shifter into the
manual “gate” to put the transmission into that more aggressive mode.

The paddle shift control requires no shift lever movement. Steering wheel thumb controls
allow immediate and quick tap up/tap down gear selection.

Magnetic Ride Control
The V-Series reaches elite levels of road-holding performance, but also maintains the
poise of a luxury car in “regular” driving conditions. The technical enabler of that dual-
mode driving character is Cadillac’s landmark Magnetic Ride Control. It is standard on
the CTS-V Coupe and is the world’s fastest-reacting suspension technology. It uses
shocks controlled by advanced magneto-rheological technology, rather than mechanical
valves, to greatly accelerate response time and precision.

Electronic sensors at all four wheels literally “read the road” every millisecond, making
constant adjustments to damping to create virtually instantaneous and extremely precise
control of body motions. This is of particular benefit for a high-performance car because
it helps keep the car very composed during hard cornering, acceleration, braking and
other dynamic maneuvers.

The Magnetic Ride shocks also enable a broader range of damping control to optimize
the ride and handling for all driving conditions. In the CTS-V Coupe, an extra measure of
control is offered, with two selectable modes (Tour and Sport), enabling the driver to
tailor the suspension for grand touring or more spirited performance driving.

Braking and tire systems
CTS-V includes sophisticated braking and tire systems, in partnership with two
companies renowned for high-performance technology: Brembo and Michelin. Brembo
brakes are at all four corners and include powerful, six-piston calipers in the front and
four-piston calipers in the rear.

Slotted and vented rotors enable strong initial braking force while optimizing heat
resistance and eliminating fade. The brake rotors from Brembo employ a “dual-cast”
technology that combines cast iron and aluminum, resulting in excellent performance
and weight reduction. CTS-V also includes an electric parking brake, enabling more
legroom for the driver, key for high-performance driving

Michelin partnered with Cadillac engineers to develop its acclaimed Pilot Sport PS2
summer tire for CTS-V and its exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels. The tires support high
levels of grip in track conditions, while also affording good performance on the road.

Interior amenities
Recaro performance driving seats are optional in the CTS-V Coupe and provide
excellent support for spirited driving. These 14-way adjustable performance seats
include pneumatic bolster controls in the seat cushions and backrests.

The CTS-V Coupe also includes an exclusive new Saffron color option for the interior,
providing a contrasting color accent carried on the seat inserts, as well as the stitching,
which highlights the craftsmanship of the instrument panel, center console, door trim and
seats.

The steering wheel, seat inserts and shifter are covered in microfiber, providing the
luxurious character of suede without suede’s inherent drawbacks of difficult care and
moisture sensitivity. These accents are standard, elegant to the touch and help support
high-performance driving.

The car’s integrated center stack is trimmed in Obsidian black material that is also
applied to the center console and door trim. Just like every CTS, the V-Series includes a
hand-stitched instrument panel, door trim and center console. Leading-edge infotainment
features extend to the V-Series. They include a 40-gigabyte hard drive,
advanced navigation system with a deployable screen and Bose digital surround audio,
as well as factory-installed Bluetooth phone integration, all standard features on the V-
Series.

All the money and all the poon – it all comes back to you. Good luck Tiger – here are the photos of his dearly departed Escalade:

[PSGallery=136oro6u3]

Interesting tidbits from the police report, also funny – I have the same book he had in his truck:

- Both the passenger side and drivers side rear doors have the windows smashed in from the outside as evidenced by the glass all over the seats and floor. Rear windows aren’t generally known for imploding upon frontal impact, indicating they were smashed in by somebody
- For some reason Tiger Woods has a book in his back seat titled “Get A Grip On Physics” by John Gribben.
- Despite the obviously destructive nature of the crash, none of the vehicles airbags went off, indicating it was somewhat low speed
- Tiger Woods bought DUB rims.

At first it was said his wife, Elin Nordegren, broke him out of the wrecked Caddy with one of his golf clubs. Well, now it seems his wife was actually chasing him out of the house with said club, possibly due to a meeting with another woman. This is all hearsay – for the record – but why let a woman come between you and your Cadillac, Tiger?

The above photos are very obviously via TMZ.

It’s a supercharged version, too – giving off 556 horse power and 551 ft-lbs of torque. So, how fast? The CTS-V Coupe, for example, is able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in around 3.8 seconds.

From GM’s Press Release: 2011 CADILLAC CTS COUPE: NEW SPORTS COUPE IS CADILLAC’S MOST DRAMATIC DESIGN

LOS ANGELES – Cadillac today unveiled the 2011 CTS Coupe, the latest and most dramatic of the brand’s series of new designs to reach production. Slated to arrive in Cadillac showrooms in the spring of 2010, the CTS Coupe is a new luxury sports coupe designed to become the centerpiece of the brand’s revised lineup.

“CTS Coupe is the new focal point of Cadillac, expressing both our design and technical capabilities,” said Bryan Nesbitt, Cadillac general manager. “It is intended to appeal to a new generation of car enthusiasts.”

The Coupe joins the CTS Sport Sedan, the 556-horsepower (415 kW) CTS-V and new CTS Sport Wagon as the foundation of Cadillac’s lineup. A high-performance V-Series edition of the Coupe will also be released in 2010.

The CTS Coupe’s design carries over virtually unchanged from the concept car that was introduced at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in 2008. The Coupe is a classic 2+2 layout bolstered with advanced technology, such as a rear-view camera system and a performance-oriented suspension system coupled to rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

Via Robert Snell / Detroit News – General Motors Co. has decided to produce the Cadillac Converj, an extended-range electric car using the same technology as the Chevrolet Volt, The Detroit News has learned. Cadillac included the Converj, a concept car that wowed industry critics and the public at the 2009 North American International Auto Show, in a presentation made to the automaker’s board of directors Nov. 2, according to sources familiar with the production plan.

A production date has not been set, and it likely will be a few years before consumers can buy a Converj. “Cadillac needs as much excitement in its portfolio as possible, so I think it’s a good strategy for them,” said Rebecca Lindland, director of auto industry research at IHS Global Insight in Lexington, Mass.

Cadillac sales have fallen 39.2 percent this year, the steepest decline among GM’s four core brands. Before GM emerged from bankruptcy July 10 with about $50 billion in federal aid, company executives said there were no plans to build the angular Converj.

At the auto show, Vice Chairman Bob Lutz said if the Converj was approved, the production model would resemble the concept, likening it to the Chevrolet Camaro’s evolution from concept to production. Lutz said it would have been easier financially to produce a Cadillac electric vehicle first because a premium brand would command a higher sticker price, which in turn would help defray the cost of lithium-ion batteries.

The Converj will expand the number of electric vehicles offered by GM and spread the technology’s cost. GM is spending more than $1 billion on the Volt program alone and opening a battery pack assembly factory in Brownstown Township. GM’s German carmaker Adam Opel GmbH will produce an Ampera model in 2011 that uses the same underpinnings.

The electrification of vehicles is seen as a growth area in the auto industry, and rival automakers have launched electric vehicle plans to cut the dependence on foreign oil.

The Volt, scheduled for production in November/December 2010, will let commuters travel up to 40 miles on electric power. The engine kicks in after its battery is drained by about 70 percent to sustain the battery’s remaining charge to keep the car running for several hundred miles.

The decision to build the Converj excited dealers. Cadillac sells a hybrid version of its Cadillac Escalade, but Scott Allen, a dealer in California, hears from customers who don’t normally think of the large SUV as a traditional hybrid.

“A snazzy-looking little car like that would be cool,” Allen said.
