How To: Build Your Own 2012 Cadillac Escalade

While viewing a recent episode of Workaholics, I started thinking about designing my very own personalized 2012 Cadillac Escalade. Exactly what should I add to the vehicle, and afterwards, where could I drive it? Twitter follower @ericofthedead felt it would be best to drive one “into the East River.” Well, it’s your money, buddy.

Luckily, all different kinds of fans are able to create personalized 2012 Escalade SUVs via the auto maker’s “Build Your Own” web app.

The site allows you to choose trim levels – everything from base SUV, starting at roughly $64,000, to that fully loaded Hybrid option, the $80,000-plus Platinum Edition. You can also convert your vehicle from a Two-Wheel-Drive powerhouse to All-Wheel-Drive monster.

Next, you can choose exterior and interior options. We highly recommend the Chrystal Red Tintcoat, though it will add $995 to the vehicle’s final price. Leather comes standard, with color options also selectable.

Then you have a long list of GM extras: everything from First Aid Kits to different seating option (bucket or 60.40 split), hub caps and rims sizing, lighting, entertainment systems, the list goes on.

Finally, warranty and pricing. General Motors offers a comprehensive new car warranty, which includes Premium Care Maintenance (4 years/50,000 miles), a Transferable Powertrain Limited Warranty (100,000 miles), OnStar free for 1 year, and up to 5 years of Roadside Assistance.

You won’t regret using this informative tool when creating a special SUV you’ll love to drive day after day.
